Your basic pistol class will be from 1pm to 5pm. ..
if you want a license to carry you need to stay an extra hour for training on Arkansas self defense law.
You will be in a classroom with inert plastic pistols learning all of the basics, proper grip, trigger control, stance, sight alignment, sight picture, and gun safety handling rules.
You will learn the mechanics of a gun, the parts, their functions, how to load a magazine, loading the gun, working the slide, clearing the gun, how to handle gun malfunctions, ammunition malfunctions, and how to correct your own marksmanship issues.
You will get time on the shooting simulator system to get you shooting accurately before moving to the live fire range.
In the range, you will have a certified instructor with you the entire time you are handling a gun to ensure your safety and that you are utilizing all of the things you learned in class.
We will provide you with a .22 caliber gun and ammunition to fire your first rounds with. .22 pistols are like shooting a BB gun ! No recoil .. lots of fun to shoot.
If you bring your own gun, we will work with you with your gun to make sure you are handling it comfortably. after that you will be offered a chance to try some of the most popular carry guns for women so when you leave class and go gun shopping you will know exactly what you want !
If you stay until 6pm
You get all of the training above PLUS an dditional hour from 5-6pm pm to train you for carrying a gun in public and defending your life.
You will get an hour of self defense law and a copy of Arkansas Concealed Handgun License Law so you have a clear understanding of justification for use of force as well as where you can and can not carry in this state.
You will also get an hour of instruction on decision making in a crisis, threat assessment, when to pull a gun, when not to pull a gun, shoot or verbal engage and not shoot.
In addition you will get scenario training on the simulator which will give you the opportunity to experience by video interaction and a computerized gun, real situations you might find yourself in as an armed citizen. Each scenario will be discussed as a class and students will get the option of actually going through the scenarios or to watch their classmates and learn by observation.
We will also cover holster options for men and women.

By registering for this class, the student understands she is making a commitment to attend .
Failure to appear on class day will result in a loss of opportunity to reschedule a make up class.
All class materials will be provided for you.
If you do not have a gun, one will be provided for you along with ammunition .
